Principal / Studio Lead

Growing up building forts and playing with Legos as a child, Kevin Chapin always dreamed of being an architect. He got his wish when he was just 18 years old and started working as a drafter at QKA. Kevin continued to work for QKA during college breaks, and he was hired for a full-time position in 2005 after receiving his Master of Architecture degree.

Kevin brings years of problem solving and state agency experience to each project as well as a high level of project management and communication. He is an expert in educational design, a LEED Accredited Professional and one of five Studio Leads at QKA, where he manages a team of design and construction administration staff on the successful execution of complex educational projects. In 2022, Kevin was promoted to Principal.

Passionate about transforming run-down facilities into modern, next generation learning spaces, Kevin thinks the most rewarding aspect of a project is watching students explore the space for the first time.

Born and raised in Sonoma County, Kevin is committed to staying involved in the community and is a recipient of the North Bay Business Journal’s 2016 “Forty Under 40” award. Additionally, he has completed over 50 half marathons and several Ironman 70.3s to date.
