Bayside Academy

New Gymnasium & Locker Rooms

Providing an appropriate physical education facility for Bayside Academy’s 400 kindergarten through eighth grade students, the STEM-based school’s new gymnasium also adds locker rooms and support spaces to the campus. Located at the edge of the school and adjoining Foster City’s public Joinville Park, design and planning prioritized a secure entrance during normal school hours, while also allowing for access to public functions and school events.

Construction of the new gymnasium has allowed for the existing building, which served a former kindergarten through fifth grade school site, to be converted into needed multi-purpose space. The campus can now accommodate food service, assemblies and a performing arts program.

Making a Difference

All grade levels at Bayside Academy now have a new and fitting space to practice physical education. Students at the school are also benefitting from additional programs and services, including performing arts, school assemblies and food service, accommodated in the existing gymnasium. Convenient access between the new facility and Joinville Park allows for more opportunities for the school and public to enjoy both.
