21st Century Education Environments

21st Century Education

To be successful in college and in their careers, all learners need to demonstrate the 21st century skills necessary for success. The workplace environments of today are vastly different than those of the early 20th century.  The 21st century workplace is dynamic, interactive, and requires critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity of our students.  When students leave school today, they will be immersed in a complex world where they compete in a global marketplace.  The schools we build today must reflect this world and support changing views of pedagogy.

Today, educational spaces need remarkable flexibility to support different learning and teaching styles. Rooms that support lectures as well as self-guided discovery, walls that easily move, outdoor messy spaces to innovate as well as clean spaces for research, spaces with readily available daylight that can be darkened instantly, flexible technology everywhere that allows for future advances—these are the environments of the future.  Designed to foster 21st century skills such as creativity, collaboration, communication and critical thinking, QKA believes timeless learning environments should be progressive, effective, flexible and sustainable.

They don’t just design the outside of schools, they create… They foster the ‘inside’, the living and learning aspects.
