National industry publication School Construction News’ most recent issue includes an article from QKA Principal Aaron Jobson titled, “School Design in an Era of Mass Shootings.” Aaron addresses this critical and sensitive topic by outlining design principles that can increase safety and security while also balancing the desire for open and flexible learning environments. The issue also highlights the recent groundbreaking event held at Encinal Jr. & Sr. High School (EHS) in the Alameda Unified School District for QKA-designed facilities projects.

QKA Receives Two Top Real Estate Project Awards from the North Bay Business Journal

12/12/18

With our project partners and clients, we are honored to announce that Kent Middle School’s modernization and Petaluma High School’s new track and field area have been named 2018 Top Real Estate Projects by the North Bay Business Journal. Work at Kent Middle School included a new administration building, as well as new and updated spaces for music, art and science. Petaluma High is now equipped with a new synthetic turf field and rubberized track, in addition to a new concession stand and ticket booth. Students on both campuses now enjoy facilities that perform, add value beyond meeting curriculum needs and blend utility with style.
