We recently attended the Coalition for Adequate School Housing’s (CASH) annual conference where, along with our client, San Mateo Union High School District, we accepted the Leroy F. Greene Design & Planning Award for our modernization of the San Mateo Performing Arts Center (SMPAC) at San Mateo High School. Click through for a video of the project presentation, including before and after photos of the theater’s transformation

Completed in 2013, the 1,540-seat SMPAC, the largest theater between San Francisco and Cupertino, underwent an extensive demolition, reconstruction and renovation, resulting in a three-story modernized facility complete with new basement space, lobby, wrap-around mezzanine and balcony seating, orchestra pit and fly-loft. The enhanced facilities accommodate student and faculty use, as well as many community performances.
